City layout - medium

Invented by nikoli ,with the title "chocona".

Rules: Shade some cells to form various areas of shaded cells. The areas can only be rectanglar in shape.Numbers inside the outlined regions indicate how many cells in that region will be shaded. If there is no number, any number of cells can be shaded.

Edit: Edited to correct ambiguity in bottom half.

LIliTS - easy

This is a new puzzle(33rd new variation/classic from me i think).Looks a bit similar to LITS.I am not sure if the title is good enough.

Rules: Place a 3-cell or 4-cell polyomino in every outlined region. In the end,all black cells must be interconnected to form a wall of contiguous cells.Figures of same size cannot share an edge.No 2x2 square can have all black cells. The wall cannot occupy cells having an 'x'.

Pentomino areas - easy

I had seen this type before.I liked it very much.

Rules: Place the full set of twelve pentominos ,one in each outlined area.Rotations/reflections are allowed, and pentominos cannot touch each other.

Salesman - medium

Another of my puzzle ideas.Surprisingly I have not seen this anywhere although it is a
simple variation.

Rules: Draw a loop through some cells moving horizontally or vertically, which does not intersect with itself, and visits as many cells in a row/col as the clue outside that row/column indicates.Every circle will be visited.

Penta battleships - medium

This is a classic pentominos puzzle with a very battleship-like clue design.Puzzle parasite calls it penta lines , awkward name.
For the first puzzle of this type,I thought why not use all dead-end clues ,probably just because it looks good.

Edit: puzzle edited in the bottom left to fix.

Fillomino

Anuraag's island

Paint some cells to form a single island of connected cells. The cells with numbers(houses) are part of this island. The numbers indicate how many unnumbered cells can be reached from that cell by moving horizontally or vertically. Numbered cells block access. All grey cells are part of the island. Every house has a white cell (sea) adjacent to it in atleast one direction.
Below is an example with its solution.

Across the borders - hard

This is a nikoli puzzle and is more commonly known as Norinori.

There are many interesting patterns I can see with these simple rules. The puzzle down here is quite tricky. All areas are atleast 3 cells large.

Rules: Shade some cells such that every outlined region has exactly two shaded cells.Every shaded cell is edge-adjacent with exactly one other shaded cell.

Akari - hard

Tetraconnect- hard

Rules: Place all seven tetraminos into the grid, once each,IF a cell contains a number,it indicates how many tetraminos are diagonally adjacent to that cell.Clue cells cannot be enmpty. No two tetraminos can be placed edge-adjacent.tetraminos do not overlap black cells.

Anuraag's island - medium

I like the genre very much.More often, when i like a type of puzzle,i tend to try finding ways of varying it.I think this puzzle has a lot of space for interesting variations and i am presenting the best way i can see of varying it.

Rules:Fill in some cells to form a single island. The cells with numbers(houses) are part of this island. The numbers indicate how many unnumbered cells can be reached from that cell by moving horizontally or vertically. Numbered cells block access. All grey cells are part of the island. Every house has a white cell (sea) adjacent to it in atleast one direction.

Nurikabe - medium

Island - easy

This is a relatively new type of puzzle.

Between Tents and trees

This is a hybrid between slitherlink and tents. The new rule is, all trees must be inside the loop and all tents outside. No tents are given.

Nurikabe - medium

This is a nurikabe.

Serendipity - easy

I like constructing puzzles that work inwards from the corners (specially nurikabe) and leave plenty of unclued space in the centre.
I dont know how the title justifies the rules of the puzzle ,but this is how it was called by the organizers of OAPC. I interpret this as a tetromino minesweeper with constrained tapa-like clues.

Rules: Place all the 7 tetrominos into the white squares without touching, not even diagonally. The clues indicate sizes of blocks of contiguous black cells around the cell with the clue.Figures cannot occupy the clues.
